King pleads guilty, sentenced to jail and probation
An Adams man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to a drug charge. 31 year old MATTHEW R. KING appeared before Judge John Agostini.
KING pleaded guilty to one (1) count of POSSESSION OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE and one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS, TO WIT: POSSESSION OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE in connection with the execution of a search warrant at 27 Spring Street in Adams on March 13, 2012.
Judge Agostini ordered that KING serve an 18 month sentence at the Berkshire County House of Correction on the charge of POSSESSION OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE. He was placed on 1 year probation on the other charge on the condition KING refrain from using illegal drugs, and undergo testing and counseling during the probationary period. KING will begin serving his jail sentence on April 18th.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Adams and North Adams Police Departments, the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department and state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force.
