King pleads guilty to assault and battery charges

A Ballston Spa, New York man pleaded guilty this morning in Berkshire Superior Court to assault and battery charges.  52 year old RONALD MELVIN KING a/k/a MELVIN T. DAVIS appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

KING pleaded guilty to two (2) counts of ASSAULT AND BATTERY in connection with an incident in Pittsfield involving a 23 year old woman and a 24 year old man.  The incident occurred on June 7, 2011.

Judge Agostini ordered that KING serve a 104 day sentence at the Berkshire County House of Correction.  He was also placed on 2 years probation.  During the probationary period KING is to remain drug free, undergo testing and not to have any contact with the victims. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
