Lane pleads guilty to child pornography charges

A Lanesborough man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges.  39 year old JERMAINE L. LANE appeared before Judge Mary Lou Rup. 

LANE pleaded guilty to four (4) counts of POSSESSION OF VISUAL MATERIAL OF A CHILD DEPICTED IN SEXUAL CONDUCT.  Judge Rup ordered that serve a 2 year sentence at the Berkshire County House of Correction on one (1) count of POSSESSION OF VISUAL MATERIAL OF A CHILD DEPICTED IN SEXUAL CONDUCT.  LANE was given a 1 year house of correction sentence, to be served on and after the first sentence on another count of POSSESSION OF VISUAL MATERIAL OF A CHILD DEPICTED IN SEXUAL CONDUCT.  Judge Rup placed him on 2 years probation on the other charges on the condition LANE have no access to a computer, tablet, phone or other devise capable of connecting to the  internet, not possess pornography of any kind, have no unsupervised contact with children under the age of 18 and undergo counseling during the probationary period.  He will also have to register as a sex offender.    

LANE had images of child pornography on his cell phone on January 31, 2011.    

The investigation was conducted by state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

            (Note: LANE will have to serve 3 years at the House of Correction.)
