Mayotte pleads guilty to drunk driving, sent to state prison

A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty July 1st was sentenced this morning in Berkshire Superior Court.  48 year old DONALD E. MAYOTTE appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

MAYOTTE pleaded guilty to one (1) count of OPERATING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL (5th offense), one (1) count of OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE and one (1) count of FAILURE TO STOP FOR A STOP SIGN.  Judge Agostini ordered that MAYOTTE serve a 2 and a half to 5 year state prison sentence at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction on the charge of OPERATING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL (5th offense).  He was given a concurrent house of correction sentence on the OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE charge.  The other charge was placed on file.  

The charges stem from an incident in Pittsfield on September 11, 2012.    

 The investigation was conducted by state troopers assigned to the Cheshire barracks.
