Meyette pleads guilty, gets jail time and probation

A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges.  31 year old JOHN W. MEYETTE appeared before Judge C. Jeffrey Kinder. 

MEYETTE pleaded guilty to one (1) count of LARCENY OVER $250 and one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT LARCENY OVER $250.  Judge Kinder ordered that he serve a 32 day sentence at the Berkshire County House of Correction on the charge of LARCENY OVER $250.  MEYETTE was placed on 1 year probation on the other charge with the conditions that he refrain from using illegal drugs and undergo testing during the probationary period.             

The charges stem from an incident in Pittsfield on July 20, 2011.    

One (1) count of BREAKING AND ENTERING A MOTOR VEHICLE IN THE NIGHTTIME WITH INTENT TO COMMIT A FELONY was dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Lee Police Department.
