Newman gets house time on drug charges

A Springfield man who pleaded guilty on September 5th was sentenced this morning in Berkshire Superior Court.  24 year old DEVIN L. NEWMAN appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

NEWMAN pleaded guilty to two (2) counts of DISTRIBUTION OF COCAINE and one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS.  Judge Agostini ordered that he serve concurrent 2 and a half year sentences to the Berkshire County House of Correction. 

NEWMAN conspired with others to sell cocaine, in Pittsfield, between October 14, 2010 and October 21, 2010 and sold cocaine in Pittsfield on December 27, 2011 and January 2, 2012. 

The investigations were conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department and state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force.
