Nicholson pleads guilty, will be sentenced July 22nd
A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this morning in Berkshire Superior Court to drug charges. 24 year old JAMEL L. NICHOLSON appeared before Judge John Agostini.
NICHOLSON pleaded guilty to one (1) count of DISTRIBUTION OF COCAINE in connection with the sale of cocaine in Pittsfield on November 30, 2011.
He also pleaded guilty to one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS, TO WIT: DISTRIBUTION OF COCAINE. NICHOLSON conspired with others to sell cocaine in Pittsfield on March 20, 2012.
Judge Agostini released him on personal recognizance pending sentencing which will occur on Monday, July 22nd at 9 a.m.
One (1) count of MISLEADING A POLICE OFFICER OR OTHER PERSON for providing misleading information to officers investigating the shooting of 23 year old Nikolas Carnute in Pittsfield on December 4, 2011 was continued without a change of plea for a period of one year.
The investigations were conducted by members of the Pittsfield, Lenox, Lanesborough, Adams, Great Barrington and Lee Police Departments, the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department and state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force.
