Pittsfield man dies from gunshot wound
A 21 year old Pittsfield man died Thursday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center after suffering a gunshot wound.
CHANDLER LYNCH (132 Lincoln Street) was transported to BMC early Wednesday morning after police responded to 50 Brown Street for a report of a disturbance. When officers arrived on the scene they found several persons attempting to transport LYNCH to the hospital. Emergency Medical Technicians transported LYNCH to Berkshire Medical Center.
The investigation is continuing, but at this point detectives don’t suspect foul play. Based upon reports of witnesses who were present, investigators believe that LYNCH was playing with the handgun when it accidentally discharged.
The investigation is being conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
