Podavini pleads guilty to drug and conspiracy charges

A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges.  42 year old BRIAN K. PODAVINI appeared before Judge Daniel Ford. 

PODAVINI pleaded guilty to one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS, TO WIT: DISTRIBUTION OF COCAINE and one (1) count of POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE.  Judge Ford ordered that he serve concurrent 2 to 3 year state prison sentences at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction.    

PODAVINI conspired with others to sell cocaine in Pittsfield on April 3, 2012 and was in possession of cocaine with the intent to sell the drug on the same date. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield, Lenox, Lanesborough, Adams, Great Barrington and Lee Police Departments, the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department and state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force.
