Ponce pleads guilty to firearm and other charges
A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to firearm charges. 27 year old SERGIO M. PONCE appeared before Judge John Agostini.
PONCE pleaded guilty to one (1) count of IMPROPER SALE OF A FIREARM, one (1) count of ILLEGAL OWNERSHIP OF A FIREARM, RIFLE OR SHOTGUN, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION WITHOUT A FIREARM IDENTIFICATION CARD and one (1) count of RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY OVER $250. He admitted selling an SKS assault rifle to an individual in Pittsfield on November 8, 2011.
PONCE also pleaded guilty to one (1) count of INTIMIDATION OF A WITNESS OR OTHER PERSON. That incident occurred in Pittsfield between December 3, 2012 and February 9, 2013.
Judge Agostini ordered that PONCE serve concurrent 2 and a half to 3 year state prison sentences at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction on the charges of IMPROPER SALE OF A FIREARM, RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY OVER $250 and INTIMIDATION OF A WITNESS OR OTHER PERSON. He was given concurrent house of correction time on the other charges.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
