Preliminary results suggest drowning was cause of death of 2 year old

The preliminary findings of an autopsy of a 2 year old girl over the weekend suggest the cause of death was drowning.

Dr. Andrew Sexton, an Associate Medical Examiner for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, conducted the autopsy on 2 year old RAQUELLE PARIS on Tuesday.  A final determination on the cause of death is dependent on further studies.

The Pittsfield Police Department received a 911 call about 3:15 Saturday afternoon reporting the incident.  Authorities say PARIS, of Victor Street, was found under water in the family swimming pool.  Emergency Medical Technicians from Action Ambulance rushed the girl to Berkshire Medical Center where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
