Rathbun pleads guilty, sent to jail

A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges.  43 year old RICHARD A. RATHBUN appeared before Judge Daniel Ford. 

RATHBUN pleaded guilty to one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON and one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY.  Judge Ford ordered that he serve concurrent 6 month sentences at the Berkshire County House of Correction. 

RATHBUN assaulted a man who is now 50 years of age in Pittsfield on March 25, 1995. 

One (1) count of BURGLARY, ASSAULT ON AN OCCUPANT was dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
