Rathbun pleads guilty to an armed robbery, sent to prison

A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this morning in Berkshire Superior Court to an armed robbery charge.  30 year old MARK J. RATHBUN (240 Second Street) appeared before Judge John Agostini.

RATHBUN pleaded guilty to one (1) count of ARMED ROBBERY.  Judge Agostini ordered that he serve a 3 and a half to 5 year state prison sentence at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction.    

RATHBUN held up a clerk at Berkshire Pipe and Tobacco on Tyler Street in Pittsfield on May 19, 2013. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
