Rohane appears in Superior Court on sexual assault charges

A North Adams man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on sexual assault charges.  25 year old BRENTON C. ROHANE (376 Union Street) appeared before Judge Mary Lou Rup.

ROHANE had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of RAPE, one (1) count of DRUGGING A PERSON FOR SEXUAL INTERCOURSE, one (1) count of FURNISHING ALCOHOL TO A MINOR, one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A HYPODERMIC NEEDLE OR SYRINGE and two (2) counts of INDECENT ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A PERSON WHO HAS ATTAINED 14.  Judge Rup ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction on $50,000 bail with the condition ROHANE have no contact with the alleged victim. 

The incidents are alleged to have occurred in North Adams between February 1, 2013 and May 14, 2013 and involved a 17 year old girl. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the North Adams Police Department.
