Sawtelle appears in Superior Court on B&E and larceny charges

A Dalton man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges.  23 year old JAKE E. SAWTELLE (230 High Street) appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

SAWTELLE had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of BREAKING AND ENTERING IN THE DAYTIME WITH INTENT TO COMMIT A FELONY and two (2) counts of LARCENY OF A FIREARM.  Judge Agostini ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction on $2,500 cash or $25,000 surety bail. 

It is alleged that SAWTELLE broke into a home in Hinsdale on January 19, 2013.  It is also alleged he took firearms from breaks in Lanesborough on January 22, 2013 and February 25, 2013.       

The investigation was conducted members of the Lanesborough and Hinsdale Police Departments and state troopers assigned to the Lee barracks.
