Steele pleads guilty to armed assault and other charges

A Lee man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges.  32 year old JUSTIN M. STEELE appeared before Judge Daniel Ford. 

STEELE pleaded guilty to one (1) count of ARMED ASSAULT IN A DWELLING, one (1) count of ASSAULT WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON and one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY.  Judge Ford ordered that he serve a 10 to 12 year state prison sentence at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction on the charge of ARMED ASSAULT IN A DWELLING.  STEELE was given a concurrent 4 to 5 year state prison sentence on the ASSAULT WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON charge and a concurrent 2 year house of correction sentence on the charge of ASSAULT AND BATTERY.     

STEELE broke in to a home on Linden Street in Pittsfield and assaulted the occupants.  The incident is alleged to have occurred on September 12, 2011.    

One (1) count of ARMED HOME INVASION was dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
