Tripodes appears in Superior Court, enters not guilty pleas

A North Adams man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on numerous charges.  19 year old SHAWN M. TRIPODES (49 Brooklyn Street) appeared before Judge C. Jeffrey Kinder. 

TRIPODES had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on six (6) counts of LARCENY OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, three (3) counts of WANTON DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, three (3) counts of LARCENY UNDER $250, two (2) counts of LARCENY OF A CREDIT CARD, two (2) counts of RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY OVER $250, one (1) count of RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY UNDER $250, two (2) counts of BREAKING AND ENTERING A MOTOR VEHICLE IN THE NIGHTTIME WITH INTENT TO COMMIT A FELONY and one (1) count of COMMON AND NOTORIOUS THIEF.  Judge Kinder ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction on $3,500 cash or $35,000 surety bail. 

The charges stem from a series of incidents in North Adams, Adams, Cheshire and Florida between April 5, 2013 and April 15, 2013. 

The investigations were conducted by members of the North Adams, Adams and Cheshire Police Departments, state troopers from the Cheshire barracks and state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office.
