White sentenced to jail and placed on probation
A Pittsfield man, who pleaded guilty May 10th, was sentenced this morning in Berkshire Superior Court. 25 year old CHRISTOPHER M. WHITE appeared before Judge C. Jeffrey Kinder.
WHITE pleaded guilty to five (5) counts of BREAKING AND ENTERING IN THE DAYTIME WITH INTENT TO COMMIT A FELONY, one (1) count of BREAKING AND ENTERING IN THE DAYTIME WITH INTENT TO COMMIT A FELONY, PLACING A PERSON IN FEAR, one (1) count of ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM, RIFLE OR SHOTGUN, one (1) count of LARCENY OF A FIREARM, one (1) count of VANDALIZE PROPERTY, five (5) counts of LARCENY FROM A BUILDING, one (1) count of LARCENY OVER $250 and one (1) count of COMMON AND NOTORIOUS THIEF. Judge Kinder ordered that he serve concurrent 18 month sentences to the Berkshire County House of Correction on all charges except COMMON AND NOTORIOUS THIEF. WHITE was placed on 2 years probation on that charge on the condition he not use illegal drugs, undergo testing and have no contact with the victims during the probationary period.
WHITE broke into houses in Hancock, Hinsdale, Richmond, Dalton and Washington between September 7, 2011 and January 30, 2012.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Hinsdale and Dalton Police Departments and state troopers assigned to the Cheshire and Lee barracks.
