Zebrowski pleads guilty to arson and other charges

A Chicopee, Massachusetts man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to numerous charges.  55 year old STUART P. ZEBROWSKI appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

ZEBROWSKI pleaded guilty to three (3) counts of BURNING A BUILDING, nine (9) counts of BURNING WOOD OR OTHER PROPERTY, four (4) counts of BREAKING AND ENTERING A BUILDING IN THE DAYTIME WITH INTENT TO COMMIT A FELONY, two (2) counts of LARCENY FROM A BUILDING and five (5) counts of LARCENY UNDER $250.  Judge Agostini ordered that he serve concurrent 4 to 7 year state prison sentences at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction on the charges of BURNING A BUILDING and BREAKING AND ENTERING A BUILDING IN THE DAYTIME WITH INTENT TO COMMIT A FELONY.  ZEBROWSKI was given concurrent jail time on the other charges. 

ZEBROWSKI set fire to structures in New Marlborough on June 16, 2011, in Sandisfield on January 26, 2012 and Great Barrington on March 8, 2012.  ZEBROWSKI also broke into a home in Great Barrington on March 5, 2012, a home in Sheffield on March 12, 2012, a home in Otis on March 29, 2012, a building in Stockbridge on April 4, 2012 and set numerous brush fires in New Marlborough, Egremont, Richmond, Lee and Monterey between April 30, 2009 and April 5, 2012.

Six (6) counts of BURNING WOOD OR OTHER PROPERTY were dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the fire and police departments from Dalton, Egremont, Great Barrington, Lee, Lenox, New Marlborough, Sandisfield, Sheffield and Stockbridge, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Lee barracks, Crime Scene Services, the Air Wing and the Office of the Fire Marshal.
