Austin is arraigned on firearm and drug charges

A Pittsfield man was arraigned this morning in Berkshire Superior Court on drug and firearm charges.  27 year old ANDRE K. AUSTIN (118 Linden Street) appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

AUSTIN had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE (2nd offense), one (1) count of POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE (2nd offense), one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS, TO WIT: POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS, TO WIT: POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF A FIREARM DURING THE COMMISSION OF A FELONY, one (1) count of ILLEGAL OWNERSHIP OF A FIREARM, RIFLE OR SHOTGUN, one (1) count of ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A LOADED FIREARM, one (1) count of IMPROPER STORAGE OF A FIREARM, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION WITHOUT A FIREARM IDENTIFICATION CARD, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF A FIREARM, RIFLE OR SHOTGUN WITH A PRIOR CONVICTION FOR A VIOLENT CRIME OR DRUG OFFENSE and one (1) count of RESISTING ARREST .  Judge Agostini ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction on $10,000 bail. 

The charges stem from the execution of a search warrant at 222 Springside Avenue in Pittsfield on January 29, 2014. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield and Lanesborough Police Departments and state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force.
