Babbs pleads guilty, sent to prison

A North Adams man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court.  27 year old MARIO R. BABBS appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

BABBS pleaded guilty to one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON, CAUSING SERIOUS BODILY INJURY.  Judge Agostini ordered that he serve a 4 to 5 year state prison sentence at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction.      

BABBS stabbed a 29 year old North Adams man, in North Adams, on June 2, 2012.    

One (1) count of ARMED ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO MURDER was dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the North Adams Police Department.
