Cox enters not guilty pleas on gun and drug charges
A Pittsfield man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on drug and firearm charges. 27 year old EVAN COX (276 Columbus Avenue) appeared before Judge Mary Lou Rup.
COX had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE (2nd offense), one (1) count of POSSESSION OF PHENCYCLIDINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE (2nd offense), one (1) count of POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE (2nd offense), three (3) counts of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS, three (3) counts of POSSESSION OF A FIREARM DURING THE COMMISSION OF FELONY, three (3) counts of ILLEGAL OWNERSHIP OF A FIREARM, RIFLE OR SHOTGUN, two (2) counts of POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION WITHOUT A FIREARM IDENTIFICATION CARD and three (3) counts of IMPROPER STORAGE OF A FIREARM. Judge Rup ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction on $50,000 cash or $500,000 surety bail.
The charges stem from the execution of a search warrant at his home on March 27, 2014.
The investigation was conducted members of the Pittsfield Police Department, the Berkshire County Drug Task Force, Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Squad and the United States Marshal’s Office.
