Desnoyers pleads guilty, sent to state prison
A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this morning in Berkshire Superior Court to armed robbery and other charges. 22 year old JOSHUA D. DESNOYERS appeared before Judge John Agostini.
DESNOYERS pleaded guilty to one (1) count of ARMED ROBBERY, two (2) counts of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON, one (1) count of RESISTING ARREST and two (2) counts of ASSAULT AND BATTERY. Judge Agostini ordered that he serve concurrent 3 to 4 year state prison sentences at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution on the charges of ARMED ROBBERY and ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON. DESNOYERS was given concurrent house of correction time on the other charges.
DESNOYERS used a pit bull to take a backpack from a 22 year old male. A 30 year old man was also assaulted during the robbery which took place in Pittsfield on September 27, 2013.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
