Gaetani found guilty, sentencing on Monday
A Pittsfield man was found guilty this morning in Berkshire Superior Court on firearm charges. The jury deliberated for about 4 hours over a two day period before returning its verdict against 64 year old GERALD V. GAETANI.
GAETANI was found guilty on three (3) counts of ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY WEAPON OR FEEDING DEVICE, twelve (12) counts of ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY FEEDING DEVICE, one(1) count of ILLEGAL OWNERSHIP OF A FIREARM, RIFLE OR SHOTGUN, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION WITHOUT A FIREARM IDENTIFICATION CARD, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF A FIREARM WITH A DEFACED SERIAL NUMBER, three (3) counts of IMPROPER STORAGE OF A LARGE CAPACITY FIREARM and one (1) count of IMPROPER STORAGE OF A FIREARM. Judge Mary Lou Rup released him on $10,000 cash or $100,000 surety bail pending sentencing which will occur Monday, May 19th at 9 a.m.
The charges stem from the execution of a search warrant at his Bradford Street home on March 3, 2013.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
