Jennings is sent to jail and placed on 2 years probation

A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this morning in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges.  24 year old VINCENT C. JENNINGS appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

JENNINGS pleaded guilty to two (2) counts of AGGRAVATED ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON.  Judge Agostini ordered that he serve 6 months of a 2 year sentence to the Berkshire County House of Correction.  JENNINGS was also placed on 2 years probation on the condition he have no contact with the victims and stay at least 100 yards from their homes.    

JENNINGS admitted being a participant in an incident that led to the shootings of two youths, who are now 15 and 18 years of age, in Pittsfield on June 16, 2013.     

Two (2) counts of ARMED ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO MURDER, one (1) count of ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM, RIFLE OR SHOTGUN and one (1) count of DISCHARGING A FIREARM WITHIN 500 FEET OF A BUILDING were dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
