King is indicted on drug charges
A Pittsfield man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges. 53 year old RONALD M. KING a/k/a MELVIN T. DAVIS, MELVIN R. KING and JOSEPH DAVIS (7 Pond Street) appeared before Judge Mary Lou Rup.
KING had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of POSSESSION OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, one (1) count of DRUG VIOLATION WITHIN A DRUG FREE SCHOOL ZONE and one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS. Judge Rup ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction on $50,000 cash or $500,000 surety bail.
The charges stem from the execution of a search warrant at 51 Cherry Street on March 20, 2014.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department and the Berkshire County Drug Task Force.
