Labarre pleads guilty to child sexual assault charges
A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to sexual assault and other charges. 24 year old ROBERT LABARRE appeared before Judge Daniel Ford.
LABARRE pleaded guilty to two (2) counts of RAPE OF A CHILD WITH FORCE, five (5) counts of POSE OR EXHIBIT A CHILD IN A STATE OF NUDITY and seven (7) counts of KNOWINGLY POSSESSING VISUAL MATERIAL OF A CHILD DEPICTED IN SEXUAL CONDUCT. Judge Ford ordered that he serve concurrent 8 to 10 year state prison sentences at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction on the charges of RAPE OF A CHILD WITH FORCE. LABARRE was given concurrent 4 to 5 year state prison sentences on the KNOWINGLY POSSESSING VISUAL MATERIAL OF A CHILD DEPICTED IN SEXUAL CONDUCT charges. Judge Ford also placed LABARRE on 10 years probation on the charges of POSE OR EXHIBIT A CHILD IN A STATE OF NUDITY. During the probationary period he is to have no contact with the victim, undergo counseling, have no unsupervised contact with children under 16, comply with all regulations of the Sex Offender Registry Board and have no computer access unless approved by the Probation Department.
The incidents occurred in Pittsfield between October 1, 2010 and July 12, 2012 and allegedly involved a boy who is now 9 years of age.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
