Lowe is arraigned on motor vehicle homicide and other charges

A Pawtucket, Rhode Island man was arraigned this morning in Berkshire Superior Court in connection with a motor vehicle crash in Williamstown.  34 year old WILLIAM D. LOWE appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

LOWE had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of MOTOR VEHICLE HOMICIDE WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND OPERATING TO ENDANGER, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL IN A MOTOR VEHICLE, one (1) count of SPEEDING and one (1) count of FAILURE TO STAY WITHIN MARKED LANES.  Judge Agostini ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction on $25,000 cash or $250,000 surety bail. 

The charges stem from a two vehicle crash in Williamstown on November 24, 2013 which claimed the life of 64 year old Lawrence George of Pownal, Vermont.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Williamstown Police Department.
