Martizna arraigned on armed assault with intent to murder and other charges

A Lanesborough man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges.  23 year old TERRY L. MARTIZNA, JR. (514 South Main Street) appeared before Judge Daniel Ford. 

MARTIZNA had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on two (2) counts of ARMED ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO MURDER, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF A FIREARM DURING THE COMMISSION OF A FELONY, one (1) count of ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM, two (2) counts of POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION WITHOUT A FIREARM IDENTIFICATION CARD, one (1) count of DISCHARGING A FIREARM WITHIN 500 FEET OF A DWELLING and one (1) count of POSSESSION OF OXYCODONE.  Judge Ford ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction on $100,000 bail. 

The charges stem from an incident in Pittsfield on December 5, 2013.  It is alleged that MARTIZNA fired several shots are two men, ages 35 and 22, on Madison Avenue.     

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield and Lee Police Departments.
