Muir found not guilty on sexual assault charges
A Stockbridge man was found not guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on sexual assault charges. The jury deliberated for about 2 and a half hours before returning its verdict against 38 year old SCOTT M. MUIR.
MUIR was found not guilty on five (5) counts of RAPE OF A CHILD: WITH FORCE and fourteen (14) counts of INDECENT ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A CHILD UNDER 14 in connection with incidents that allegedly occurred between 2003 and 2006 and allegedly involved five girls who were between the ages of 8 and 10. The incidents allegedly occurred in Stockbridge at the Stockbridge Plain School where MUIR was a school counselor.
The investigation was conducted by State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office.
