Nieves pleads guilty, sent to jail and placed on probation

A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges.  38 year old JOHNNY NIEVES appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

NIEVES pleaded guilty to three (3) counts of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON and one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY in connection with an incident in North Adams on June 15, 2013 involving a 41 year old man and a 22 year old woman.

Judge Agostini ordered that NIEVES serve concurrent 45 day sentences at the Berkshire County House of Correction on two (2) counts of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON and one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY.  He was placed on 2 years probation on the other count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON.  During the probationary period NIEVES is to have no contact with the victims, remain drug free and undergo drug testing and counseling.  

The investigation was conducted by members of the North Adams Police Department and state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office.
