Poole pleads guilty to child pornography charges

A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges.  52 year old JOHN POOLE appeared before Judge Daniel Ford. 

POOLE pleaded guilty to five (5) counts of KNOWINGLY POSSESSING VISUAL MATERIAL OF A CHILD DEPICTED IN SEXUAL CONDUCT.  Judge Ford ordered that he serve concurrent 4 to 5 year state prison sentences at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction on four (4) counts of KNOWINGLY POSSESSING VISUAL MATERIAL OF A CHILD DEPICTED IN SEXUAL CONDUCT.  POOLE was given a 2 to 3 year state prison sentence, to be served on and after the first sentence, on the remaining KNOWINGLY POSSESSING VISUAL MATERIAL OF A CHILD DEPICTED IN SEXUAL CONDUCT charge.          

POOLE possessed child pornography in Pittsfield on December 19, 2012. 

The investigation was conducted by state troopers assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.    

  (Note: POOLE will serve a 6 to 8 year state prison sentence.)
