Ryan pleads guilty to drug and firearm charges

A Springfield man pleaded guilty this morning in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges.  32 year old ROBERT E. RYAN appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

RYAN pleaded guilty to one (1) count of TRAFFICKING IN OXYCODONE, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF A FIREARM DURING THE COMMISSION OF A FELONY, one (1) count of ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION WITHOUT A FIREARM IDENTIFICATION CARD, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE (2nd offense), one (1) count of RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY OVER $250 and one (1) count of OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE.  Judge Agostini ordered that he serve concurrent 3 to 5 year state prison sentences at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction on the charges of TRAFFICKING IN OXYCODONE and RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY OVER $250.  RYAN was given concurrent house of correction time on the ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM and POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE (2nd offense) charges.  He was placed on 2 years probation on the other charges on the condition RYAN undergo drug testing and counseling during the probationary period. 

The charges stem from a motor vehicle stop in Pittsfield on January 7, 2014, 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department, Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department and state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force.
