Smith enters not guilty pleas on drug charges
A Pittsfield woman was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges. 36 year old AMENA K. SMITH (22 Hamlin Street) appeared before Judge John Agostini.
SMITH had not guilty pleas entered on her behalf on one (1) count of TRAFFICKING IN COCAINE, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF MORPHINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE (2nd offense) and two (2) counts of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS. Judge Agostini ordered that she be held at the Hampden County House of Correction on $10,000 cash or $100,000 surety bail.
The charges stem from the execution of a search warrant at her home on October 1, 2014.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield, Great Barrington, Dalton and North Adams Police Departments and state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire County Law Enforcement Task Force.
