Tarpeh enters not guilty pleas on carjacking and other charges

A Stafford, Virginia man was arraigned this morning in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges.  24 year old MICHAEL M. TARPEH appeared before Judge John Agostini.

TARPEH had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of CARJACKING, one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON, one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTRY and one (1) count of LARCENY OF A MOTOR VEHICLE.  Judge Agostini ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction on $200,000 bail.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred at the east-bound travel plaza on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Lee on February 22, 2013.

The investigation was conducted by State Troopers assigned to the Turnpike and State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office.
