Tarpeh pleads guilty, will be sentenced in August

A Stafford, Virginia man pleaded guilty this morning in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges.  24 year old MICHAEL M. TARPEH appeared before Judge John Agostini.

TARPEH pleaded guilty to one (1) count of CARJACKING, one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY CAUSING SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY and two (2) counts of LARCENY OF A MOTOR VEHICLE.  Judge Agostini ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction without the right to bail pending sentencing which will occur on August 25th at 2 p.m. 

The charges stem from an incident that occurred at the east-bound travel plaza on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Lee on February 22, 2013.

The investigation was conducted by State Troopers assigned to the Turnpike and State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office.
