Welch found not guilty in Superior Court

A Pittsfield man was found not guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges.  The jury deliberated for about an hour before returning its verdict against 45 year old TIMOTHY W. WELCH. 

WELCH was found not guilty on one (1) count of BREAKING AND ENTERING IN THE NIGHTTIME WITH INTENT TO COMMIT A FELONY, two (2) counts of BREAKING AND ENTERING IN THE DAYTIME WITH INTENT TO COMMIT A FELONY and two (2) counts of LARCENY FROM A BUILDING.       

The charges stem from incidents that allegedly occurred in Lenox on February 19, 2013.  

Four (4) counts of ATTEMPT TO COMMIT A CRIME, TO WIT: BREAKING AND ENTERING IN THE NIGHTTIME WITH INTENT TO COMMIT A FELONY and three (3) counts of MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY were dismissed prior to trial. 

The investigations were conducted by members of the Lenox Police Department.
