Zerbato has his case continued for one year

A Pittsfield man appeared on an arson charge this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court.  40 year old BRIAN R. ZERBATO appeared before Judge John Agostini.

ZERBATO had one (1) count of BURNING A DWELLING HOUSE continued without a finding for one year.  During that time, Judge Agostini ordered that ZERBATO must continue to take his medications, remain in an in-treatment facility until it is determined he may be released.  ZERBATO also has to undergo a fire setting evaluation before being released and must follow a discharge plan set up by the Department of Mental Health.

It was alleged that ZERBATO set fire to his 82 West Housatonic Street apartment on October 9, 2009.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police and Fire Departments.
