Through the Office of the Attorney General, a Victim Compensation Fund has been established to allow victims of violent crimes as well as dependants and family members of homicide victims to apply for financial assistance. This compensation includes any uninsured, out-of-pocket expenses such as medical, dental, counseling, lost wages, loss of support or funeral and burial expenses up to $4,000 incurred as a direct result of the crime.

Application forms are available through a Victim Assistance Advocate and submitted for review to the Victim Compensation & Assistance Division at the Attorney General's Office located at One Ashburton Place, Boston, MA 02108.
