The Office of Real Estate Management (OREM) is the department within DCAM responsible for all acquisition & disposition of real property for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts*.
OREM handles hundreds of different projects located in communities throughout Massachusetts. Our capital projects yield significant social and economic benefits for the Commonwealth and the 351 Cities and Towns throughout the State. OREM generates millions of dollars in revenue for the Commonwealth and provides the stimulus for numerous local development and construction projects (see Economic Development section below for details).
*Chapter 7 of the Massachusetts General Laws, as
amended by Chapter 579 of the Acts of 1980 and Chapter
484 of the Acts of 1984, directs DCAM to manage the
Commonwealth's real estate assets.
