GROUND LEASE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Real Estate Management

 

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance ("DCAM"), on behalf of the Massachusetts Highway Department ("MHD"), have completed ground leases on various state-owned rest area parcels throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The ground leases are for a term of ten (10) years with an option to extend for an additional ten (10) years. The final rest area redevelopment projects usually includes a 24-hour, 7 days per week road side rest area, service station, restaurant, tourist information center, ATM, and convenience store facility open to the public. The Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance has completed six sites and generated proceeds of $52 Million to date.
