DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY
The Plain Street property is vacant forested land measuring approximately 15.5 acres, and located across from Village Square Crossing in a district zoned as residential rural. Middleborough is the second largest town by land area in Massachusetts. The area that the town covers is 68.1 square miles. It is the cranberry capital of the world and a major center of antiques. Middleborough is located 38 miles from Boston, 22 miles from New Bedford, and 30 miles from Providence, Rhode Island.

DISPOSITION PROCESS AND ECONOMIC BENEFITS

DCAM consistent with its statutory authority under Section 548 of Chapter 26 of the Acts of 2003 sold the subject property, through public auction to Oak Point Drive I LLC c/o Otis Realty for $1,650,000 on October 12, 2004. Redevelopment plans are to be determined.
