HVAC AND BUILDING SYSTEM RENOVATIONS FOR HOSPITAL & DORMITORY - HOLYOKE SOLDIERS' HOME

• Multi-phased renovation project in an operating healthcare facility
• Project will provide air conditioning to the entire facility for the first time
• Conversion of the existing auditorium into a pharmacy, dental suite and veterans care center
• Complete renovation of the existing kitchen and dining room
• Renovations include expansion of the outpatient clinic which serves more than 4,500 veterans

NEW PSYCHIATRIC FACILITY, DEPT. OF MENTAL HEALTH

A 294-bed psychiatric hospital serving individuals from all parts of the Commonwealth is now in design and will include the following features:

• The hospital will provide a state-of-the-art, high quality, safe and respectful environment for patients, promoting active rehabilitation as a key component of therapeutic care.
• The programmatic approach of small to large spaces is driven by the concept of the therapeutic approach to treatment.
• Private bedrooms, soon to be required for accreditation, enhance the ability of staff to provide individualized care.
• Central kitchen with basement-level distribution of prepared meals allows economy of scale for cooking, yet individualized dining for patients, fostering the home-like setting.
• Joining of “neighborhoods” to serve multiple units permits a richer mix of professional skills in the staff, enhancing patient treatment and recovery.
• Village green and related indoor winter garden areas provide secure, safe recreational areas for patients
• Optimum configuration permits efficient patient to staff ratios, enhancing the effectiveness of Federal reimbursement funds.
• Electronic access to medical records will enhance the staff’s ability to provide optimum care.

NEW GIRLS` FACILITY, WESTBOROUGH - DEPT. OF YOUTH SERVICES

A new Girls Detention Facility was recently completed in the Town of Westboro, MA. This facility is the first of its kind built specifically for girls in New England and is modeled after successful programs in Denver Colorado. Some of the features include:

• LEED certified at silver level.
• Single story, steel frame with brick exterior, fully air conditioned.
• Stand alone DYS facility, separate from and not dependent on the Westborough State Hospital utilities.
• First girls' facility in the Commonwealth that includes a full size Gym and appropriate work-out facility for females.

FIRE PROTECTION RENOVATIONS AT THE QUIGLEY BUILDING - CHELSEA SOLDIERS HOME

Construction has recently been completed in the Quigley Building for significant system improvements:

• New fire protection and central air conditioning system
• Ancillary electrical, heating and plumbing upgrades and asbestos abatement.
• Multiple phase life safety project

MA VETERAN`S MEMORIAL CEMETERY EXPANSION IN AGAWAM

• Expansion of the Veterans' Cemetery by over 10,400 burial sites
• Installation of approximately, 5,400 pre-fabricated crypts
• Construction of five (5) columbrium walls and the creation of in-ground cremain cites.
