The study for the new Taunton Trial Court was completed in June 2007, and the design phase is now under way. Leers Weinzapfel will continue as the designer and Daniel O'Connell's Sons has been hired as the construction manager. The new courthouse will contain eight courtrooms serving the District Court, Juvenile Court, Housing Court, and Probate & Family Court. Together with the Superior Court building, the complex will serve as a comprehensive justice center for Northern Bristol County.
