The fire protection improvement project for the Science and Wheatley Buildings has recently been completed at UMass Boston. Neither the Science nor the Wheatley Building were built with sprinkler systems back in 1972 . This work is in reponse to an abatement order by the BFD contending the building is not in compliance with fire prevention law. Features inlcude:
