For Immediate Release - June 08, 2015

     District Attorney Michael O’Keefe announced today that on June 4, 2015 Eric P. Gustafson, d/o/b  11/11/1972, of 132 South Street, Hyannis MA, was found Guilty by a Barnstable County Superior Court jury for Larceny from a Building. The Defendant was sentenced by the Honorable Gary A. Nickerson to 4½  to 5 years in state prison. Subsequently, on June 5, Mr. Gustafson admitted guilt to Breaking & Entering in the Daytime with Intent to Commit a Felony, Larceny from a Building, and four counts of Receiving Stolen Property Over $250.  The Defendant was sentenced by the Honorable Gary A. Nickerson to a concurrent sentence of 5 to 6 years in state prison.

     In several unrelated incidents, Mr. Gustafson broke into and stole jewelry and other personal items from a home in Barnstable on July 17, 2012, participated in the theft of property including jewelry and other personal items from a home in Barnstable on December 17, 2013, and was in receipt of property including jewelry and other personal items stolen from other homes in Barnstable and Yarmouth on June 13 and 14, 2012 and December 11 and 16, 2013.

     The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Michael Donovan and investigated by the Barnstable Police Department.
