Frederick L. Yeomans Jr. Press Release

    Cape & Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe announced today, that after a two day trial a Barnstable Superior Court jury found Frederick L. Yeomans Jr. (DOB: 10/5/1949) guilty of Operating Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor.

    Judge Gary A. Nickerson sentenced Yeomans to 4.5 to 5 years committed at MCI-Cedar Junction on  the enhanced charge of Operating Under the Influence, having been previously convicted of OUI four or more times.   Yeomans was also sentenced to 2 years committed, on and after, to the Barnstable County House of Correction for related charges to which he plead guilty. 

    The charges stem from an incident that occurred on September 18, 2015, when a concerned citizen called 911 to report an erratic operator traveling on Route 132 from the area of the Capetown Plaza towards the Route 6 overpass.

    The case was investigated by the Barnstable Police Department, and Massachusetts State Police.

    The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Michael A. Patterson.
