Fratantonio Press Release Update

At approximately 1:50 am on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 Barnstable Police received several 911 calls from various parties regarding a violent crime which had taken place at 89 Trout Brook Road, Cotuit, MA.

Police arrived shortly thereafter and observed an individual, Christoper S. Fratantonio, DOB 11/28/80. He was subsequently arrested for the murder of his wife Mary J. Fratantonio DOB 6/11/81. Both parties resided at the Cotuit address. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim appeared to have suffered from multiple stab wounds.

Christopher Fratantonio was arraigned in the Barnstable District Court on the Charges of Murder, Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 265, § 1, and Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon, Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 265, § 15A and entered pleas of not guilty.

Judge Edward H. Sharkansky ordered him to be held without bail at the Barnstable County Correctional Facility to appear in Barnstable District Court on March 27, 2017 for a Probable Cause Hearing.

The matter remains under investigation by Barnstable Police and State Police Detectives assigned to District Attorney Michael O’Keefe’s office.
