The Friends of GLBT Youth, Inc. ("The Friends") is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating homophobia and transphobia in order to allow all young gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people the opportunity to reach their full potential. It is not affiliated with the Commission on GLBT Youth, but has supported the Commission's work in various ways over the years.

Apply for the Safe Schools Fellowship
We are currently accepting applications for a Safe School Fellow. For more information, view the service description.
In the past years, the Massachusetts Commission on LGBT Youth has regularly hosted interns and fellows to engage in projects relevant to its mission. As an example, the Commission welcomed an Eli J. Segal Citizen Leadership Fellow from Brandeis University to work on several policy issues.
Individuals or teams wanting to pursue such opportunities can proceed in two ways either:
- by contacting us with a project proposal so we can assess its relevance to the Commission's work; or
- by contacting us with a description of their skill-sets so we can match them with ongoing projects.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to seek independent funding. We look forward to hearing from you!
