Why the tests are being done?
Will the tests be done at an accredited hospital or lab? Hospitals and laboratories are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations which is a national authority. Accreditation means that the hospital or lab has met strict health and safety requirements.
How are the tests done?
What information will the health care provider learn from the tests?
How do you prepare for the tests?
Will the tests be uncomfortable?
What are the risks associated with the tests?
Is there any other way to get the needed information?
How will you receive the results of the tests? When your health care provider orders any type of test never assume that no news is good news. Have a plan with your health care provider for obtaining results before the testing begins.
